What benefit is there in using Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline for making internet calls?

The Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline uses your standard telephone to make Phone Calls over the Internet. Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline utilizes the newest echo-canceling technology to provide high-quality sound.

2.
Can I do other things online while talking over the Internet?

SETU INFOCOM does not recommend that you concurrently place calls and perform Internet browsing if you are connected via a 56K analog modem. However, if you have a broadband (cable, ISDN or DSL) connection the bandwidth is large enough such that you should be able to easily surf while conducting an Internet call.

3.
Will this product work over a phoneline-based home network?

Yes. If many computers are sharing Internet access, the lower available bandwidth may affect call quality.

4.
Will this product work on a EPBX?

Yes. The Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline will work on an EPBX using SETU Router Plus.

5.
If I choose to plug a cordless phone into the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline, will others be able to pick up the transmission of the call?

Your cordless phone should work in the same manner for both a regular analog call and an Internet call. You should check with the manufacturer of the cordless phone to learn about the likelihood of someone being able to listen in on either type of call.

After using the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline, I cannot hear any sound out of my computer's speakers.

Windows not switching back to your sound card after use of the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline causes this problem. To correct this problem, click Start on the Windows task bar. From the Start menu, choose Settings, then choose Control Panel. Double click the icon for the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline and in the dialog box that appears, manually change the settings from the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline back to your sound card.

I picked up the phone to place a call but there was no dial tone.

Make sure your phone is plugged into the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline connection labeled "Phone" rather than the connection labeled "Line/Modem." See "Connecting the Hardware" on page of the manual for the proper way to connect your phone to the device.

If the above solution does not work and you are in a dual-line installation, check to make sure that your analog phone line is connected to the "Line/Modem" connector on the back of the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline. Also make sure that the sound card selected in the Multimedia Control panel is the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline . If this connection is not made, your phone will only work in I-Phone mode.

I am unable to make any telephone calls unless my computer is turned on, and (in a single line situation) I haven't received any telephone calls since installing the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline.

Make sure you are using a standard phone cable to connect the "Line/Modem" connector on the back of the Setu USB Internet Phone Hotline to an available phone outlet in your home or office. If this connection is not made, you will be able to make calls over the Internet, but not over standard phone lines.

9.
I have placed a phone call and the call has been received, but I cannot hear the other caller.

Make sure your volume (in Windows) is set to an appropriate level in the configuration settings for your particular sound card.
